There is a God. He is real. He does exist, and He wants us to love Him with all our heart and all our soul and all our mind, but we cannot love someone or something we know nothing about. God wants us to love Him, but to love Him we must know Him. We want our husbands or wives or boyfriends or girlfriends to love us, too, but they can only love us if they truly know us. This is why we spend so much time talking with each other and doing things with each other when we first meet. It is so we can learn about each other so we can love each other. We want to be the number one thing in their lives, and the Lord wants to be the number one thing in our lives, too. God wants us to truly love Him, but if we do not know Him then we cannot love Him. Many people think they can never love God. Their knowledge of God is that He is huge and very scary and only waiting to punish us for every little sin we committed. That is wrong. He gives us chance after chance and years upon years of life to talk to Him and to learn about Him so we can love Him and then be with Him and He with us in total love together in Heaven forever and ever. The Simple Side of God is exactly written for that purpose –to help us learn more about God so we can love Him to the fullest we have to give Him so He can love us back to the fullest He has to give us.
